The true meaning of independence day-the new American

In the American calendar holiday any day is more significant than the fourth of July, when we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of independence in 1776. The Declaration proclaims to the world our separation from Great Britain and our emergence as new sovereign State, as we say in the oath our flag, "under" Dios, with liberty and justice for all.

The unequivocal statement said: "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Those words summarise the divine origin of our inalienable rights and our philosophy of Government. Nothing much to which he had been proclaimed revolutionary anywhere by anyone. But these beliefs claimed by a long and bloody war that finally won. The result has been this bright light on a hill, United States of America, the nation great, creative, productive and richer in human history.

The beginning of the end of slavery
Today, the Declaration of independence is commemorated as the centerpiece of American political philosophy.
