Nairobi: President Kibaki left the country in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to attend African Union Summit that opens Thursday.
The Summit, whose theme is the "acceleration Training of young people for sustainable development", is intended to provide the best environment and abilities of young Africans to excel and contribute significantly to peace and security, economic growth and sustainable development of the continent.
During the Summit, the heads of State and Government of the African Union are expected to ratify the African Charter of young people and in accordance with the implementation of the medium-term priorities in the action plan for the Decade of African youth.
In Kenya, the main policy documents on youth include Kenya 2007 national youth policies and the "Marshal of youth employment plan" that are aligned with the country's development plan Vision 2030.
Kenya, which is a signatory to the African Charter of young people, is the creation of centres in all the constituencies of youth training. 104 Centres of this kind are already ready for the young people have access to ICTs, recreational facilities, counselling and health and training in the creative arts.
Along with the official theme of the Summit, the heads of State and Government of the African Union will also examine and consider the report of the peace and Security Council (PSC) on its activities in Africa.
The PSC, Kenya is one of the founding members, is a body of permanent decisions for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa. It is also a collective matrix warning and principles to facilitate a timely response and effective post-conflict and several crisis situations on the continent.
The President is accompanied by among others internal security acting Minister for Foreign Affairs Minister George Saitoti
Earlier, President Kibaki welcomed the efforts of the Church in conflict resolution and humanitarian assistance.
The President cited the cases of conflict in the Sudan and Somalia as examples where the Church was helping thousands of people who suffer as a result of the conflict.
Recognizing that the Church does not have any means of conflict resolution, President Kibaki urged members of the firm clergy agents of Justice, forgiveness and reconciliation.
The President pointed out that, in addition to keeping the herd on the right track, the Church should maintain its role as the first line of the promotion of peace in the region and in other parts of the world.
He was speaking during the opening ceremony XVII Association plenary Assembly Member Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa (AMECEA) at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi.
"As spiritual leaders of our society that take responsibility for pointing the right way forward, correct us when we are wrong and to ensure that we continue the Dios for fear of men and women," said President Kibaki.
The President thanked the Church in the region the AMECEA for his role in the promotion of development and the material well-being of the people through the creation and management of health services, schools, colleges, universities and employment-generating projects.
"As we all appreciate the physical integrity of persons is part of the higher ideal of spiritual development". "Urge, therefore, the churches of the region to continue the AMECEA and exclusive even its role in development."
The President of AMECEA is the Archbishop of Blantyre, Malawi, his grace T G Ziyaye thanked President Kibaki and the people of Kenya for the creation of an environment conducive to the institutions the AMECEA running smoothly in Kenya.
Archbishop Ziyaye, said that the Association has made it possible to create and promote mutual trust through partnerships to promote the common good of the people and strengthen solidarity.
In his speech, the President of the Kenya Episcopal Conference John Cardinal Njue said the AMECEA plenary session of the Assembly was held in Kenya for the sixth time.
The Catholic Cardinals AMECEA meets, bishops and other representatives of eight countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Malawi.
Pope's representative in Kenya As Archbishop Alain Paul and senior officials of the Government of Kenya were present.
